Why does my mini-split's outdoor unit seem to fail more than my neighbor's central AC?
It doesn't fail more often on its own merits, but Mount Airy's position on Parr's Ridge means more sustained wind hits an exposed outdoor unit than the same equipment would get in a sheltered valley spot. Wind loading over years can work line-set connections loose, so we check the mounting and fittings on ridge-top installs a little more closely.
