Thermostat Says Cooling but the House Is Getting Warmer
A thermostat showing Cooling does not prove the air conditioner is producing cool air. Check whether the indoor blower runs, whether the outdoor unit starts, whether the filter is blocked, and whether ice or water is present.
Make one safe pass through the controls and breaker. If the outdoor unit hums without starting, the breaker trips, the coil is frozen, or the home is getting dangerously hot, stop testing and request help.
